Car rental service was 1 minute walk away from Airport hotel. The hotel was good, but quite expensive, the location was perfect though.
Based on good reviews I decided to rent the car from Blue Car Rental I've chosen their old Suzuki Jimny which had almost 100k km on its odometer. I can't find information whether they offer such cars anymore. And call me paranoid, I took all possible insurances.
After small inspection and paper work I got this -
Let the journey begins...
Just after leaving the highway I stopped almost every ten kilometers the landscape is beautiful and it was sunny and warm day.
Nesjavallavirkjun geothermal power station
My first stop was planned at Nesjavallavirkjun geothermal power station, but just before the power plant you can see tubes and power poles that go Reykjavik direction.

Few kilometers of driving and up in the mountain there is nice view to Nesjavallavirkjun geothermal power station.
Broken down car
I feel sorry for them and was quite concerned about my car, because it's quite old as well. But during my whole trip I didn't have any technical issue.
Thingvellir National Park
Next stop was Thingvellir National Park which is UNESCO World Heritage Site. The national park is quite big, but I had interest to see two places -
Bruarfoss
Next stop was planned Bruarfoss waterfall, but my GPS coordinates were wrong and I didn't want to waste more time finding it, later after more Googling I found a good description how to find this waterfall and went there on last day. See DAY 14.
Geysir / Strokkur
So I went to Geysir / Strokkur. The entrance to the park is free, but they'll appreciate if you'll drop some spare money in the box. Geysir doesn't erupt anymore, but nearby geyser Strokkur erupts every few minutes.
